Learn Quran with Tajweed Rules

Learn Quran with Tajweed is to learn and practice the rules governing the pronunciation with which the Quran is properly recited. Some important Tajweed rules are:

  • Al-Makharij al-Huroof: Tajweed begins with mastering the correct pronunciation of Arabic letters from their respective point of articulation. It involves knowing the origin (makhraj) and the exit (sifat) of each letter.
  • Qalqalah: Some letters, when a Sukoon falls on them, have a slight echo or a rebound effect. These letters are Geem, Kaaf, Taaa, Faa, and Baa The Qalqalah takes place only if the vowel following the letter is of any kind.
  • Idgham, or Assimilation, is that state in which two similar letters are found together. There are two types of idgham: idgham with ghunnah (nasal sound) and idgham without ghunnah.
  • Ikhfa: Ikhfa is to conceal very slightly the sound of the noon saakinah or tanween in certain letters, or if certain letters follow it.
  • Iqlab (Conversion): This happens when a noon saakinah or tanween is followed by a ba; in this case the sound changes into a meem.
  • Istifal and Isti’la (Stretching): Rules of the elongation of certain letters (madd) based on their characteristics and in the presence of the specific diacritics.
  • Waqf Rules: It is also important to know when and where to make waqf when reciting the Holy Quran. There are different forms of stop. Various signs indicate a full stop, a partial stop, or a pause, each having its different rules.
  • Ghunnah (Nasalization): Some letters, when followed by a noon saakinah or tanween, give a sound coming through the nose named Ghunnah.

This requires practice, guidance from learned tutors, and continuous effort on pronunciation, rhythm, and the general recitation of the Quran.
