What are Tajweed lessons?
Tajweed lessons are actually a set of courses fundamentally and mainly designed for the correct pronunciation, articulation, and recitation of the Quran in accordance with Tajweed rules. Tajweed means the rules and principles of the correct way of reciting the Quran; this includes all Arabic letters, which must be pronounced correctly, with a balanced rhythm, and with a melody.
In Tajweed lessons, students learn:
Correct Pronunciation: Tajweed teaches the correct pronunciation of the Arabic letters, along with the correct sounds and attributes to be attributed to them. It teaches the proper articulation of the tongue, the movements of the lips, and the throat to enable a sound to be correctly produced.
Tajweed rules mainly include rules on elongation (madd), proper stopping (waqf), merging of letters (idgham), nasalization (ghunnah), and the rules for pronunciation (ikhfa, iqlab, izhar) which, with their knowledge and practical application, add to the beauty and clarity of the recitation of the Holy Qur’an.

- Application in Recitation: By this time, students will have applied the Tajweed rules throughout the course when they recite the selected Quranic passages, Surahs, and verses. They then receive feedback together with some corrections for improvement.
